Left side: developing the counterpoint line for All the Girls, and arrangement details. Also, note that where the album has the (admittedly bizarre) Allman-esque trio-guitar-lead theme in the intro and outro, I was originally thinking of doing a fake-out soul thing on the front end. Missed opportunities.
Right side: It's Only Portland When it Rains makes an appearance. I started writing this song on the way to work one day* and so the bulk of the written detail is on some piece of staff paper outside of the notebook. This is late-stage detail work—I was looking for alternate stanzas for the chorus, to play against the "wet/yet" couplet that features in the first chorus.
*Note to self: if I find myself needing to get some songwriting done and it just isn't happening, maybe I should go for a damn walk.
