Album in a month: Manifests

It’s done.  I made an album.  And I think it’s pretty good.  I’ll make a nice page for it sometime soon, but for now, here’s the tracks in order, and zip and tar files for easy grabbing.

  1. At the Open Mic
  2. When You Get a Girl
  3. To All the Girls that Broke My Heart Without Trying To
  4. I Spend All My Free Time on the Internet
  5. I Just Got Back From the Dentist
  6. Let’s Just Pretend that David Bowie Wrote this Song
  7. The Human Condition
  8. All These Little Metal Things
  9. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
  10. It’s Only Portland When it Rains

The whole thing in a gzipped tarball (OS X, Linux) and zip archive (Windows).

  1. Josh,

This is even more awesome then I expected it to be. I would gladly buy this album and wear it out.

I know it may sound trite, but I can honestly say that you are one of my favorite artists. This is a gift to me. Please never stop feeding that beautiful creative passion you have.

    Thanks.

    Your fan,
    ‘dios’

  2. Yeah, thanks a lot, dios. Now the rest of us just look like a bunch of slacking bastards. Anyhow, nice work, Josh. Or something, you know, supportive and meaningful and good.

  3. “Drooling and talking like a moron beats the hell out of the pain” pretty much sums up my entire life. “Let’s Just Pretend that David Bowie Wrote this Song” is my favorite. It ain’t OMAR, but it is pretty damn kick-ass. Rock on.

  4. I’m just happy this album didn’t include hijacked copies of me and another faithful reader covering a song from “The Simpsons”.

  5. You know how sometimes there’s ice cream on the outside but when you put your finger inside you find someone’s quiet and melodic gold earrings? That’s this album, I strongly believe.

    Thank you for the music.

  6. Ahhhh, the reason I couldn’t find this was that I was looking for the link to BUY the album…

You should really link it in your MeFi profile.
